Our Story

We met the modern way: by swiping right online, just as Jordy was preparing for a two-month trip to Europe. Christina thought their connection might be short-lived, but once back in the States, Jordy decided to take a chance, calling it “the longest long shot in the history of long shots.” To his luck, Christina was still interested in meeting him!

On a cold but sunny February 26 in 2023, we met for the first time outside a coffee shop in the West Village. We bonded over our shared love of travel, exploring NYC, music, and Formula 1. What began as coffee turned into an hours-long marathon date – cut to five hours later and we were still talking!

It was clear we couldn’t wait to see each other again, as just two days later we reunited for dinner at Eataly’s rooftop, followed by impromptu ice skating at Bryant Park and cocktails. Since then, our journey together has been filled with adventures near and far—from the canals of Amsterdam to the canals of the Venetian in Las Vegas, to the Spanish Steps, and to the dunes of Death Valley. Along the way, we’ve shared many of these moments with the people most important to us; our families and friends.

In the summer of 2024, we took the next big step, moving in together on the Upper West Side. Now, you’ll often find us strolling or running through Central Park, enjoying the neighborhood we call home.

On July 28, Jordy told Christina that he had planned a surprise dinner at the Boathouse in Central Park, but Christina quickly grew suspicious when he dressed in a jacket and shirt despite the summer heat. And her suspicion was right! As we strolled into Bethesda Terrace, Jordy dropped to one knee just as a street artist began playing, “I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You.” Christina’s brother Chad appeared from behind a pillar to capture the moment as Jordy asked the big question. Christina’s answer? “A thousand times yes!” 

Now, we’re counting down the days until September 20, 2025. We can’t wait to celebrate with all of you, surrounded by the bellissimo Tuscan landscape, as we say “I do” and embark on the next chapter of our lives together.
